Venus Rising

I'm a great admirer of the works of the Old Masters. They essentially changed painted artwork from the flat 2-dimensional images painted on the walls of Egyptian tombs to the artwork we see today on the Internet. As formal as many of the Old Masters' works sometimes appear, many of them had keen senses of humor (which not only shocked the critics of their time but actually put the artist's lives in danger with the authorities). One gentle nudge-in-the-ribs was in fixing the picture's viewer with a character looking directly out of the work directly at them.

Sandro Botticelli's (It. 1446-1510) "Venus Rising" done in PhotoShop as a furry spoof. You can see what the original painting looks like by clicking here.
