I'm a full-time novelist who writes predominantly science fiction. I've been doing this professionally since I dropped out of the mechanical engineering program at Cleveland State. I live in the Cleveland Area, specifically the East Side Heights area, where I've resided the last twenty-four years or so. Much of my work is set in Cleveland and two of my novels currently in print are set here. One is my first novel, Forests of the Night. (see the cover above) The other is my latest novel, titled Raven, which is in print under my given name, S. A. Swiniarski. I've been a member of SFWA for the past three years.
I've set up a number of ongoing pages outlining my written work. There is a page for each individual work (Hostile Takeover is considered of a piece even though it it three separate books) containing publication information, a blurb (the back cover copy if I had written it) and a link to Amazon.com to purchase the book if you find it interesting. I've also included a timeline which originally appeared in Specters of the Dawn, which gives a history of the common universe my first three novels are set in, those three books are part of the Moreau series, each of which is complete unto itself. (as opposed to Hostile Takeover which is a single work a third of a million words long.) I've added a page of links to other places on-line that refer to my work.

After a long time thinking about it, I've now included samples of my published work for readers to peruse. I have samples from Emperors of the Twilight and Profiteer here, as well as my sole published short-story, "The Long View." I've also included essays on plot and world-building for those who're interested about my thoughts on those matters. In a similar vein, I've begun to assemble a list of reference works that I'd recommend to anyone interested in writing SF, or writing in general.
I am a member of a local writer's workshop, which has critiqued most of the novels I've written, either whole or in part. I consider the group a valuable resource in my writing. I've started to assemble a page for the group.
My favorite waste of time on the net is a game called nomic, in particular a specific nomic known as Agora. I am attempting to get together and maintain a FAQ for Agora, and I've put together a small (Ok, it's gotten big enough for it's own page now) group of Agora and Nomic related links.
