Silly Lion by Lionus

After finishing the four works* that I had intended to display at AnthroCon 06 I was a little bit winded, artistically and emotionally speaking. They had all been very complex demanding pieces and for several months I had been "chained" to them with time for nothing else.

So, when I came home to Lionus' World after the con I needed to break away from all that seriousness and do something purposely a little silly to loosen up. Hence our little friend here.

When I tried to formalize him into a "ink" drawing, with the idea of coloring him later, he stubbornly refused to come through. Soooo, I gave up and let him have his way, letting him appear in public just the way he arrived -- as a pencil drawing.

Postscript: I added the title label across the bottom of the picture as an afterthought. It serves my purpose of telling you the title of the pic, when I did it, and that it was done by little ol' me. :-)

*("Freedom of Speech", "Ecco Villioso" (AKA "The Trial"), "Veil Dancer" and "Escape of the Kitchen Slaves")
