Interested in seeing your character come to life? The following is a basic guideline to my commission rates and restrictions. It's only a to give you a rough idea of what's available but if you have something special in mind and don't see it here, just ask, I can probably accommodate you.
As of 8/7/98 I will no longer be taking commissions for at least a month as I clear out my backlog of work.
Black and White Artwork
9X12(Bristol board) 15 to 30 depending on complexity and technique
14X20 (cold pressed illustration board) 30 to 60
Color Artwork
9X12(Bristol) 20-40 .........14X20(board)35-80
Canvas(Acrylic painting) 50-200(Sizes range)
Computer color(comes with inked original) 10-70
Other Items
T-shirts(Hand drawn on heavy weight 50/50 shirts) B/W only $25 (see "Tali.jpg" for example)
Jackets(Clothing supplied by commissioner) 30-100(on leather or denim)
Sculpture(not available at this time) 50-300
Trades for Art
Occasionally I will accept trades on artwork for certain cool items which are of interest(animation related items(toys, videos, ect.) or comics. But cash is the preferred method.
Guidelines
I am fairly open in terms of the subject matter I will and will not do. Erotic artwork is fine as is artwork with a violent theme. However, I won't mix the two, so no rape, painful bondage or the like. Expect my erotic work to have a feminine edge to it, I'm a woman and it shows in how I draw and while I will be fairly explicit I don't like to draw pics that look like they just came out of a gynecology text.:P Bestiality is also something I'd rather not draw. Same goes for anything sexual with underage characters.
Copyrighted characters(example: Balto) are a no-no, I can draw in the style of those characters but the characters themselves are off limits. Being sued is not an objective of mine.
I reserve the right to refuse any commission for whatever reason(but that doesn't happen often)
What I will need from you
When you are commissioning a character portrait from me please be as explicit as possible about the way they look and their personality. Describe any jewelry, special clothing, props(swords, staffs, ect.) The better you describe the happier you will be with the end result.
Payment
A deposit of 25% of the price is requested up front. After receiving it I will send sketches for your approval and for you to make changes to.If you decide to back out at this point your deposit is refunded to you. Once a sketch is agreed upon the final work will start and the deposit becomes non-refundable. If you decide to back out at that point I will stop work and give you what has been completed up to then.
The remainder of the payment is requested upon completion. When it's received the final work will be shipped out to you.
Other Notes
I can provide matting for your artwork at cost of the materials if you request it.
Shipping cost of $3.75 is added to any commission .(Rates outside of the US may vary)Large size works may cost more.
All artwork remains copyrighted to me but if you are interested in a "work for hire" agreement that can be arranged.
I reserve the right to make prints of a commission for future sale if a"work for hire" arrangement is not made. I will however ask for your permission before doing so,
Turn around on commissions vary according to my day job and what you are commissioning. Usually it is less than 3 months and in the case of something simple less than a month.
